Mt. Lebanon High Hackathon

Mt. Lebanon High Hackathon

At the beginning of the school year, founding members of the Coding Club, juniors  Felix Yang, Alek Stefanov, Sig Kukla and sophomores Clara Sun and Sally Tan, began to plan a hackathon event for their Mt. Lebanon middle school peers.  Members Maxim Baran, Katie Ding, Vivian Luo, Lucian Mikush, Sutter Smith, Thomas Ranney, Jacquelyn Tang, and Michelle Yang worked alongside the club's officers to prepare the first Mt. Lebanon High Hackathon.

Coding Club officers and members worked hard to locate resources, create an event plan and instructional materials (including presentations and rubrics), and develop a website hub. Check out the website HERE.  High School students led lessons on Python, Edison Robots, and game design--and everyone answered questions during the coding and design portion of the event.  Check out the High School Gifted Website LINK for more details.

The Coding Club and sponsor Mrs. Nicole Glover would like would like to thank Dr. Thompson, Mr. Duane Lewis, Mr. Chris Stengel, Dr. Sarah Shaw, and Mr. Andrew Turton for their support.

Special thanks to Mrs. Katheryn Duchin, Mr. Max Morgans, and Mr. Matt Atwood for their help bringing our high school and middle school coders together.
