MUN Team Wins 1st Place At Pitt EU Competition

The Mt. Lebanon Model UN team won 1st Place at the University of Pittsburgh Model European Union held on December 4th. A total of 220 students from 15 schools in Western Pennsylvania competed at the Pitt Model EU and our students won both individual honors and as a team was the "Best Delegation".  

Pitt's Model EU is divided into 4 separate rooms of 54 students with two students in each room awarded first place.  Mt. Lebanon students won six of the eight 1st place individual awards!  

The first-place winners were seniors Antonio Carapella and Daniel McNulty representing Ireland, juniors Jack Horrigan and Jack Silverman as France and sophomores Rafaay Khan and Benjamin Ash representing The Netherlands.    In addition, Mt. Lebanon seniors Andrew Gamba and Jacob Vito took 2nd place as Poland.  Juniors Melanie Hendrick and Ellie Hester and seniors Ben Brown and Christian Fraasch won 3rd place honors at the conference while competing in the same rooms as their teammates.  Congratulations to our students on their stellar performance and continued dedication to the championship Model UN program and to their coaches, Mr. George Savarese and Mr. Adam Lumish.
