Junior Clara Sun was awarded First Class, the highest ranking, in the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Writing Competition.
Sophomores and juniors in the current academic school year are eligible to be nominated by their school’s English department to participate in the NCTE Achievement Awards in Writing contest.
This year, schools nominated 633 students to participate in the Achievement Awards in Writing Program. From the United States, students were nominated from 44 states, as well as Guam and Washington, D.C. Internationally, teachers nominated students from Canada, Greece, Jordan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
